The main problem there was that most dungeons were boring corridors without much to do. These battles were much smaller and faster, which allowed you to train weaker units without having to bring them in story important battles. There's only so much FE I can take within such a short amount of time. Fire Emblem Echoes on the 3DS had some dungeons where the player could explore and battle roaming enemies. However, having just played 3 FE games in quick succession (4, SD and Echoes), I think I'll go back to my Revelations file in order to finally put that behind me and then take a break. Now, only New Mystery of the Emblem of the original "trilogy" remains, and from what I've heard it supposedly has some of the best gameplay in the entire series. It's been a while since I played, but IIRC, a key part of it was using the running sword stab into a pot, then immediately running out of the room, without picking up the treasure. As for the game itself, I can't tell if I like it better than Awakening or not because I need to replay the latter and see how I feel about it nowadays (which would be neat to revisit because now I have the proper context for Archanea/Ylisse and Valentia/Valm), but it's definitely much better than Birthright and what little I've played of Revelations. Alm is level 8 and basically everyone is first tier leveled between 2 and 5 (having been promoted out of villager at level 10). It's easily my favorite soundtrack out of all the 3DS entries. Also, I just can't get enough of this OST. Otherwise, I never needed Silver Marks or easy experience. It also helps that I beat Shadow Dragon literally the same day I started this one and seeing the little and not-so-little nods to it was really neat. Inner Sanctum is cool since you get a mini dungeon, decent item drops and exclusive access to the Astral Shards and the Star Jacinth (the latter boosts all non-Res growths by 30). It doesn't do anything particularly out of the ordinary, but it's well executed and sincere enough that I can't help but look back fondly on my time with the game. Also, if all 12 shards are obtained, they can be combined with a Black Pearl to create the Starsphere, which gives 30 growth rate. Reward: Items (unlimited), Star Shards (random drops), and a Starsphere (you need to find all Star Shards, and a Black Pearl unlimited) Details: the Items and the Star Shards are found inside pots, in the dungeon. I can safely say that despite getting very repetitive at times, the overall experience really resonated with me. Star Shards affect growth rates when held.
